Infection Control Half Day course

This course is suitable for care settings, doctor surgeries, dental surgeries, nurseries and in any other areas where infection control is adhered too.

Domiciliary staff, Nursing staff, pharmacist and anyone else.

What you will learn

This course will provide you with an understanding of what infection control is and how it complies with current legislation and management in the UK, enabling you to take practical steps in infection control which includes precautions and effective hand washing procedures. 

Course content

  • Definition of infection control and its importance
  • Types of infections and how it can effect you and others around you
  • Recognising the vulnerability of certain people within establishments where there is a risk of spread of infection
  • Risk assessment
  • Understanding the role of infection control and applying and practising infection control
  • Infection control measures
  • Legislation, management, guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Universal procedures
  • Effective hand washing and drying technique

Course duration

Half Day day (three hours) Maximum number of 20 candidates. This course is taught at one of our venues or delivered onsite. 

Assessment and certification

This course is delivered by a qualified trainer. Candidates will be assessed continuously throughout the training and will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the course aims and objectives. Candidates will receive a certificate valid for 12months and a workbook.
